About the artist
Every Picture tells a Story
Manfred Vogelsänger achieved international fame in advertising photography in the 1980s and wrote advertising history for Camel, Fa, Langnese or McDonald's.
After his successful career in people - life and action photography, Manfred Vogelsänger specialised in film and founded Vogelsänger Film GmbH Düsseldorf in 1989.
Today he devotes himself mainly to art photography and moving image/video art.

Manfred Vogelsänger has received numerous national and international honours and awards for his work as a photographer and director.
His first exhibition took place in 1979 at the Galerie für Fotografie in Düsseldorf with star photographer Peter Lindbergh.
He is a member of the ADC Art Directors Club Germany and was Executive Vice President of the CFP-E Commercial Film Producers of Europe for many years. In 2016, he was made an honorary member of the German Advertising Film Academy.
A few years ago, he retired from the operational business and currently devotes himself mainly to art photography and moving image/video art.

André de Lourmel was the photographer who accompanied the shooting of the film Le Mans 24h in 1971. Grandprix Original and Manfred Vogelsänger were able to acquire his estate. The photo artist Vogelsänger collages the Steve McQueen photographs and describes his style as "photo-destructionism". Here, the works are created purely through analogue processing in various stages of the process. A process that takes 6-8 weeks.
For the video installations, see X-[ART] the collages are immersed in a pool of water and filmed with a high-speed camera.
The paintings / installations of this series are limited to 25 copies.

Large format images were photographed in a water tank. The distortions were created by moving water in a water tank. In the series Moving Art Installation, (see X-art ) the video sequences were created by a high-speed video shoot in a water tank. Each sequence is in motion. The video sequences change every minute. 2 TV monitors - NEC MultiSync, built-in Mini HD Media Box/Player with integrated memory card.
