Artist:Technique:Painting with acrylic paint on canvasMaterial:Jute, paper & acrylic paint on canvasAbout the artwork:My work is a mixture of different images/paintings and colours, which I combine on the computer and on canvas to create a new image. My favourite motif is the female face. I use pictures of people and old walls, grunge posters and all kinds of other interesting motifs to create a new image again. When the digital part is done, I print the image and start painting over it. I create thick textures and many layers of paint and gel over it. In this way I try to make the digital image tangible again. My work is not so much about explanation and concept, it's a game and everything is about the image. I generally start with no idea, but by looking at images that interest me and mixing them, a new image slowly emerges. All work is made to any size you wish. Most of these works are a mixture of print, paint, grit gel, heavy gel and math/gloss coating. The works are handmade, individually slightly different in editions of max. 25 pieces.Format:
